First circular

This is the first announcement of our October international conferences in the subjects of (1). Dormancy in crustaceans: basic research and applied science (2). Zooplankton Behavior, Ecology and Aquaculture.  We have invited 6 Russian scientists to present their researches in the subject of Dormancy in crustaceans: basic research and applied science.  In particular, the diapause eggs have been sent to space and exposure in the space for some period of time by Russian spacecraft and back to earth for further studies.  The results are quite interesting and will be presented during the conference.  Basically, these two international conferences will be held from October 6 to 8, 2009 consecutively.  The post-conference tour will be held from October 9 to 11.  The conference will be held at the National Taiwan Ocean University, Keelung, Taiwan.  The official language of this conference will be English.  We will have oral and poster presentations during the conference period.  Usually, the climate in October of Taiwan is comfortable.  The average temperature in Keelung is about 25 oC ranged from 20 oC to 30 oC.  The electricity is 110 volts, 60 cycles.  Standard fittings are for flat two-pin plugs.  The monetary unit is the New Taiwan Dollar (NT$), one US dollar currently being equivalent to approximately NT$ 33 (subject to change).  Notes are in denominations of NT$ 1000, 500, 200 and 100.  Coins are in denominations of NT$ 50, 10, 5 and 1.  Credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and department stores.  The conference will provide free shuttle bus services from Taipei international airport to Evergreen Laurel Hotel, Keelung on October 5 (Monday) only in a pre-arranged basis.  Please e-mail me your flight schedule so we can arrange the best pick-up service from the airport.   During the conference, free shuttle bus will run two times per day (to conference venue, NTOU’s campus before the conference and back to hotel after the conference).  We will have a proceeding after the conference in Hydrobiologia (SCI journal).  Basically, all invited speakers will get the support of your registration fees, hotels, foods, domestic transportations and post-conference tour for free.  During conference period, the accommodation will be arranged in the 5 start hotel of “ Evergreen Laurel Hotel”(Address: 62-1 Chung Cheng Road, Keelung, Taiwan.  Tel: +886-2-2427-9988; Fax:+886-2-2422-8642).  The deadline for abstract submission will be August 20.  Please keep your topic in the subjects on either (1) Dormancy in Crustaceans or (2). Zooplankton Behavior, Ecology and Aquaculture.  The scientific program will be announced after receiving all abstracts before August 31.  Please prepare your talk for 17 minutes and another 3 minutes for questions (totally each invited speaker will have 20 minutes).  If you need letter for your Taiwanese visa, as soon as I receive your abstract, I will write an accepted letter of your abstract and invitation letter for you to apply for Taiwan visa. Please reserve your flight of arrival on October 5 for attending these international conference in Taiwan.  If you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Have a nice visit Taiwan soon
